Donegal Deputy calls for government support for Irish music festival scene

There are fears that the Irish music festival scene is slipping away as the Dáil heard that nine festivals have been cancelled this year.

Donegal Deputy Pearse Doherty, who is also a founder and chairperson of the SULT music festival in Gweedore, says with the likes of big ticket artists like Taylor swift and P!nk playing in Dublin, people may be under the illusion that the industry is thriving.
