Two lifeguards have been commended after coming to the aid of a young girl at Marble Hill Beach.
Its understood she had fallen ill while beside her father after possibly inhaling some water.
She was carried from the beach and assessed by the lifeguards on duty.
An ambulance was called and the girl was then taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for further aid to check for symptoms of secondary drowning.
