In this week’s programme, Chris Ashmore finds out more about the civic dollars project which is being extended in Donegal.
In essence, this is a rewards programme using technology for getting out and being healthy, and which encourages people to spend more time in parks and open spaces.
The man behind the concept and business is Stephen McPeake, who is based in Greenlough, Co. Derry. Stephen has been working in the technology industry for more than 25 years and sees considerable potential for the role technology that can play to enhance the health, wellbeing and community spirit in urban and rural settings.
Donegal Co. Council has been instrumental in getting behind an initial Civic Dollars pilot project in the county and such has been the positive feedback that it has now extended it further.
