Need for development along the N56 raised in Dail

The government has been urged to intervene in Transport Infrastructure Ireland’s ongoing refusal to allow house building and other development along the N56.

In what was the last Topical Issue to be raised before the Dail dissolves, Deputy Pearse Doherty Urged Junior Minister to raise the issue. He told the minister Donegal County Council has made constructive proposals, but TII still refuses to engage.

Deputy Doherty told the Dail that a recent review of speed limits which allows for speed on the N56 to be reduced from 1100 to 80 kilometres and hour may provide the basis for a discussion.

He says he wants to see young people in particular being able to build in their own area………
