A motorist has been arrested after they were caught driving in excess of an 80kph speed limit.
Buncrana Roads Policing Unit were operating a speed check yesterday in the Killea area, when they detected a vehicle travelling at 109kph.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after they failed the roadside breath test.
A court appearance will follow.
Gardaí are urging road users to not risk lives on the roads by driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs or by speeding.
