Police are looking to speak to the owner of a stomp pit bike that abandoned the vehicle in the Friel Close area of Ballymagroarty when they seen police on Thursday last.
The rider is asked to visit Strand Road police station with proof of ownership, proof of insurance and an explanation as to the use of the bike on public land. A conversation can also be had about seeing the bike returned.
PSNI are again warning that these bikes can be a danger when used in public areas and are asking parents who have bought their child a pit bike or scrambler for Christmas to ensure these are being used in a safe manner, on private land, with the land owners permission.
