Rescue 118 was called out to help an injured walker in Donegal yesterday afternoon.
The woman suffered a serious ankle fracture while on a walk near Melmore in Downings.
She managed to reach her car, where she was able to call the emergency services.
Malin Head Coastguard were contacted and the Rescue 118 helicopter arrived on the scene at approximately 1.40pm.
The woman was then transferred to Letterkenny University Hospital, where she received treatment for her injury.
