Police were attacked with petrol bombs and fireworks after a dissident republican parade in Derry yesterday.
Violence broke out during the annual march to mark the 1916 Easter Rising in the Creggan and Bogside areas.
Disorder broke out in the Nailors Row area of the city at around 2:50pm as masked individuals paraded towards Lecky Road during which petrol bombs, fireworks, and masonry were thrown at Police.
Chief Supt Gillian Kearney says the disorder was orchestrated.
She says young people were shamelessly and deliberately used to distract from and shield the masked individuals as they took cover in a gazebo following the parade to change out of their parade clothing.
Ms Kearney labelled this child criminal exploitation and said it is utterly shameful.
Following the parade, two vehicles were stopped by Police, and two men, aged 30 and 55, were arrested under The Terrorism Act and taken to Musgrave Street Station for questioning.
One of the vehicles, a van, was seized along with several other items.
