Matthew McCole has been beaten in the last 32 of the World Boxing Championships by the narrowest of margins in Liverpool this afternoon.
The Dungloe native and Illies Golden Gloves fighter lost to Filipino fighter Ronald Chavez on a 3-2 split on the judges scorecards and has exited the competition.
McCole qualified for the tournament by winning the National 70kg Elite title back in June.
