Ireland will not take part in the Eurovision next year, if Israel’s participation goes ahead.
In a statement RTE says it would be unconscionable for Ireland to take part, given the ongoing and appalling loss of life in Gaza.
The European Broadcasting Union has been holding an extensive consultation process on the issue of Israel’s involvement in the competition.
