ESRI urges budget caution as economy showing pre-2008 crash parallels

There’s a warning the Irish economy is showing ‘parallels’ with the time before the economic crash of 2008.

The Economic and Social Research institute is urging the government not to risk overheating the economy again by spending too much in the budget next month.

The coalition’s set to unveil a spending package of €9.4 billion.

However Dr. Conor O’Toole from the ESRI says a cautious approach is needed:
