A meeting of Glenties Municipal District has been told that in the absence of a scheme for social homes affected by defective blocks, money for maintenance and other works is coming from the council’s own funds.
Cllr Dennis McGee says this is having a severe impact on the council’s housing budget, preventing or delaying other necessary works.
Cllr McGee says the council must write immediately to Minister James Browne to highlight the situation, and remind him of government’s responsibility:
