The issue of seaweed harvesting was raised at a meeting of Donegal County Council’s Economic Strategic Policy Committee.
Large corporations seeking licenses to harvest seaweed have been a cause for concern within coastal communities.
This is particularly in relation to the effect mechanical harvesting can have on the ecosystem.
