
The latest uptake figures of the Department of Education’s Free Book Scheme have been published.
In Donegal, €1,521,680 in funding was allocated to primary education, benefitting 19,021 children in 172 schools.
In secondary education, €4,276,861 in funding was allocated, helping 15,099 students in 29 schools.
Welcoming the figures, Donegal Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher said the scheme represents a major commitment to educational equality.
