Cllr Doherty calls for balance between housing list and defective blocks crisis

An Inishowen councillor has called for clarity on how social housing tenants will be accommodated during remediation works on defective blocks.

Cllr Albert Doherty is asking whether a proportion of new social homes in Inishowen can be reserved for tenants who will have to leave their current homes for repairs.

He says there is still no clear plan in place for where affected families will be housed during the process.

Cllr Doherty says a balance must be struck between those on housing lists and those already in social homes affected by crumbling blocks:
