Almost €800,000 allocated to Donegal under the Community Climate Action Programme Fund.

Nearly €800,000 has been allocated to Donegal under the Community Climate Action Programme Fund.

The funding will support 25 successful community groups across the county in delivering a range of capital projects aimed at addressing the challenges of climate change.

The Community Climate Action Programme is designed to empower communities to take meaningful local action while contributing to the delivery of the five-year Climate Action Plan for Donegal.

This investment will enable community organisations to implement small, medium and large-scale initiatives that enhance sustainability, reduce carbon emissions and promote climate resilience at a local level.

Among the successful applicants are Wild Inishowen, Glenswilly GAA, Gweedore Celtic FC and Grúpa Chosta Fhánada, reflecting the strong engagement from a diverse range of community groups across the county.

Donegal County Council say they will continue to work closely with all successful groups to support the implementation of their projects, ensuring that communities are equipped to take meaningful, lasting climate action.
