People in the northwest are being encouraged to record sightings of basking sharks.
A large number of the sharks have made an appearance in recent days in Donegal Bay and around Mullaghmore Head in Co. Sligo.
Its the second largest fish in the world and can grow to 10 metres in length.
Anyone who sees the creatures is asked to report the sighting to the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group.
