Shelbourne will have a new manager in the dugout when they return to FAI Cup action this Friday.
John Russell has made the move from Sligo Rovers to Tolka Park, having spent four years at the Showgrounds.
The Galway native replaces Joey O’Brien in the dugout, after he was sacked by the Reds three weeks ago.
Russell had previously led his former club to sixth, seventh and eighth place finishes in the League of Ireland Men’s Premier Division – however they remain rooted to the bottom of the table this season.
