Former Celtic captain Scott Brown has emerged as a candidate for the managerial vacancy at Derry City.
Tiernan Lynch was dismissed by the Candystripes yesterday, having picked just 6 wins from their 26 league games this season.
The club also exited the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers a fortnight ago at the hands of Croatian side HNK Rijeka.
Brown made over 600 appearances for Celtic and most recently manager Scottish Championship side Ayr United.
The Scot also managed Fleetwood Town in England’s League One and led them to the FA Cup Fourth Round for the first time in their history in 2023.
Director of Football Mark Connolly will take charge of Derry on an interim basis and will be in the dugout for their hosting of Sligo Rovers in the SSE Airtricity League tomorrow evening.
