The Leas Cathaoirleach of the Inishowen Municipal District says there are very important issues to be considered by Minister James Browne in light of the review of the IS465 standard which governs the current Defective Concrete Block scheme, with applicants also having to decide whether to proceed or wait.
Martin McDermott, a previous Cathaoirleach of the council’s DCB Committee says it could be the end of the year before the minister’s consideration of the draft IS465 changes is complete, at which point changes will be made to the scheme.
Speaking on today’s Greg Hughes Show, he said it’s important that people are being given the choice of proceeding with their current offer, or choose to wait until changes have been made.
