St. Eunan’s are Donegal Senior Hurling Champions after a 1-18 to 1-17 extra time win over Setanta at O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny this evening.
The home side led for much of the game, including a 0-12 to 0-03 half-time advantage, but a Sean Ward goal for Setanta in injury time at the end of normal time sent the game to extra-time at 1-11 to 0-14.
The game ebbed and flowed in the added period and it was St. Eunan’s who edged in front with a Fergal Delaney goal at the death to claim a dramatic victory.
