An elderly woman has been forced to shower at her sister’s house while waiting for an assessment under the Housing Aid for Older People Grant Scheme.
Cllr Declan Meehan says the 72-year-old has been waiting since May for a council engineer to assess her eligibility for a level-access shower.
The scheme helps older people remain in their homes by making them more accessible.
Ninety-six applications have been received this year, with around half still awaiting assessment.
