A Donegal Councillor has claimed that the closure of rural Garda stations is leading to people being unable to get on the electoral register.
When registering to vote a person must have their forms signed by a member of the Garda at a station.
Cllr Albert Doherty says during the recent referendum many people who wanted to vote, couldn’t get on the register because they couldnt get a member of the Gardai to sign their forms.
And he says the current system to get the supplement is outdated and needs to be changed……….
