DMRT use smartphone app to locate Muckish walkers lost in fog

A smartphone app which allows rescue personnel locate lost walkers was used on Muckish in Donegal yesterday.
The Donegal Mountain Rescue Team received a report of two people lost in fog on the mountain.
The walkers were located using SARLOC, a system whereby a web address is texted to the lost people, they access that address and then the rescue team locks on their location.
DMRT say a Hill Party was dispatched and the walkers were quickly located and safely returned to their vehicles.
