Break in at home of elderly woman in Glencaw Park area of Derry

There’s been a break in at the home of a woman in her eighties in the Galliagh area of Derry.
The Glencaw Park property was entered at around 3.50am this morning.
The intruder entered the householder’s bedroom but fled when he saw her.
A purse containing cash was taken from a downstairs room.
The empty purse was later found in the nearby Cashel Hill Park.
Local Councillor Brian Tierney says other local properties were also targeted, but no other thefts were reported.
