Has Gay Byrne left RTÉ?

Three months after suffering a heart attack, it looks like Gay Byrne could be leaving his radio show.
The broadcasting legend has been a hosting a weekly programme on RTE’s Lyric FM, but has hinted he won’t be returning after his last show on Sunday.
At the end of the show he thanked his listeners and said: “That’s all I can say”. Before reciting a quote from Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar.
“If we shall meet again in the autumn, why then, we shall smile, if not, why then, this parting word well made.
“And all of those good things.”
