Mark English has qualified from his Heat in the 800 metres at the Olympic games in Rio.
The Donegal man finished in third place in Heat 6 this afternoon in a time of 1 minute 46.40 seconds, which was enough to send him through to the next round.
Canadian Brandon McBride won the heat in 1.45.99 while Polish athlete Marcin Lewandowski finished second.
The semi final will be take place on Sunday morning at 2am Irish time.
