Derry have kept themselves in the hunt for a European spot and the Premier Division title after battling their way to a 1-0 win over Shamrock Rovers on Tuesday night at the Tallaght Stadium.
Rory Patterson’s first-half goal was enough for Derry to move to within two points of the summit plus increase their advantage over fourth place Rovers to five points but the Hoops do have two games in hand.
