Soccer – Derry City Take First Points

UCD 0 V 2 Derry City.
Derry City picked up their first points of the new Premier Division season on Friday night. The Candystrips beat UCD at the Belfield thanks to goals from Gareth Mc Glynn on 18 minutes and Daniel Lafferty in the 87th.  Stephen Kenny’s side who dominated the second half also had Stewart Greacen and Lafferty hit the woodwork. Having lost in their opening game to Sligo the win is also Derry’s first since returning to the top flight. Letterkenny’s Cillian Morrison played  for UCD on Friday night.
