The latest Trolley and Ward Watch Figures show that at Letterkenny University Hospital, there were 237 patients waiting on a bed last month, up 90 from July 2016.
Since January 2813 people admitted for care at the hospital were waiting on trolleys or in overflow areas was 2,813, up over 2,000 on the same period last year.
The INMO say recent the records again confirm the lack of capacity, leading to lack of access within the public health system.
They believe it is imperative that the Government, the Department and the HSE immediately agree the necessary additional funding with incentives to recruit staff to enable the expansion of the health service to meet both scheduled and unscheduled care demands.
