A 20 foot whale has been beached on Arranmore Island.
The whale was first seen on Saturday night when members of the Arranmore Lifeboat were attending a cheque presentation at the Waterfront hotel. They were asked to investigate when people reported there was a flock of birds diving in one spot in the water.
Members of the crew recognised it as a dead whale.
Today, the whale washed up at Beal Chraois on the Eastern end of the island.
