Republic of Ireland U17 1-1 Turkey U17
Troy Parrot’s fantastic injury time free kick ensured Ireland earned a share of the spoils in Wednesday night’s international friendly against Turkey.
Donegal’s Marc Walsh started for Ireland and the Swansea City player on on the field for 55 minutes.
Seamus Keogh, a student at Cholaiste Colmcille in Ballyshannon was an unused sub.
Parrot’s 30 yard free kick in the second minute of additional time was the least Ireland deserved in testing conditions in Galway.
Colin O’Brien’s side had the better of the chances over the opening sixty minutes but found themselves behind following Atakun Gunduz’s penalty on the hour mark.
The two teams will meet again on Thursday with a 1pm kick off in Eamonn Deacy Park.
