Letterkenny CCTV system to be extended

 

Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce has announced plans to extend the towns CCTV system.
The Chamber has applied to the Department of Justice for funding to further improve the system by adding cameras to various locations to enhance the current system and widen its reach.
Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce has been working closely with Donegal County Council and An Garda Siochana over recent months in exploring the extension of the current community CCTV system in the town.
Subject to funding from the Department of Justice, it is intended two cameras be installed at the the Polestar Roundabout as it is a main artery and busy junction.
It is hoped the CCTV system can be extended to include new cameras at the Junction of Oliver Plunkett Road and Main Street.
The junction of Larkins Lane and Pearse Road has also been earmarked for new cameras as well as the hospital roundabout.
