A recent Joint Policing Committee meeting has heard of the widespread concern after it emerged that two convicted child sex offenders had registered in Donegal.
James White and Jason Lydiard, also known as Alexis Guesto both served time in Northern Ireland for child sex offences and registered at Letterkenny Garda Station just over a week ago but later returned to the north.
Chair of the JPC, Councillor Gerry McMonagle says the protocol put in place by the Gardai to deal with similar scenarios was questioned and says that in these instances, it’s vital that information is provided to the public:
