Concern has been raised at the apparent lack of consultation between the Department of Justice and local authority, after it was confirmed an Inishowen hotel is to be used as an accommodation centre to house international asylum seekers.
It’s reported the Caiseal Mara Hotel in Moville will house up to 100 people in Direct Provision, who are expected to begin arriving in the next three to four weeks.
Local Councillor Martin Farren says the news came as a shock and he received no prior consultation on the matter:
