Tanaiste to discuss no-deal scenario with EU’s chief Brexit negotiator

 

 
The Tanaiste Simon Coveney is to meet the EU’s chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier this afternoon to discuss Irelands contingency plans for a no-deal scenario.
The two men will also discuss recent meetings between the EU’s Brexit taskforce and British negotiators.
Ahead of their meeting, Simon Coveney has thanked Mr Barnier and his team for their continuing determination to safeguard peace in Ireland and for protecting the single market while respecting the UK’s decision to leave the EU.
