Mulligan – Sean Cavanagh must have lost his notes

Former Tyrone player Owen Mulligan has rounded on his former county team mate Sean Cavanagh for what he said were his embarrassing comments about Tyrone boss Mickey Harte.
Cavanagh was part of the Sunday Game panel on RTE on Sunday and during a debate on the future of Harte as manager, Cavanagh described his former manager as an amazing servant for the county, but said there comes a time when the baton has to be passed on.
However, writing a column for Paddy Power, Mulligan said he knew men who had served on committees who were also amazing servants for the county.
He said Mickey Harte had delivered 37 trophies in 28 years. 23 of those trophies with the Tyrone senior team – and insisted Harte had revolutionised the fortunes of county football in Tyrone.
“Sean always has lots of notes in front of him during those broadcasts but he must have lost the page on what Harte has brought to Tyrone,” Mulligan said.
Mulligan adds: “Five All-Ireland semi-final defeats in the last six attempts would spell the end for a Kerry, Dublin or Mayo manager. We don’t act with the same haste in Tyrone. That’s down to the man that we have in place. Mickey Harte deserves to see out the next twelve months. This time next year he will either have turned it around or decided to call time on his incredible management career and those who know him will take a few more than six words to sum him up.”
