A leading Donegal GP is warning that it simply isn’t viable to bring in free GP care for all children under the age of 13.
The Government proposal is being met with serious criticism from a number of organisations with the IMO stating that GP services are already at breaking point.
Dr James McDaid says questions need to be answered as to why the Government isn’t targeting age groups who arguably need it more.
He also says that there are not enough GPs in the county and elsewhere for the policy to be a success:
