A Carndonagh councillor says it’s important that a full time gardener is appointed to the area, so the town can progress in the Tidy Towns competition, and pursue other environmental projects.
Cllr Albert Doherty was speaking after officials told Inishowen Municipal District that an advert had been placed for General Operatives, and a number of applications were received from people with an interest in outdoor and garden work.
Officials confirmed it’s envisaged that some of those will be based in North Inishowen.
Cllr Doherty says while that is welcome, what’s needed is a permanent gardener in Carndonagh:
