Marc Walsh only concern for Derry boss Ruaidhri Higgins

There’s plenty at stake at Head in the Game Park on Friday evening as both Derry and Drogheda look to keep up their good recent run of form ahead of the upcoming 2-week break.

The home side go into the match unbeaten in their last six outings including four wins on the bounce. In the visitors’ corner, Ruaidhri Higgins has tasted defeat just once in his seven matches in charge including a record of 3 wins and a draw from 4 away trips.

On the team front the Candystripes will be without Marc Walsh, the winger will be given time during the break to recover from his hamstring injury.

Higgins though has a full panel to choose from other than that against a side he says are right up among the in-form in the league.

“They’ve done brilliantly this season and are now in the top four. It’s going to be another very tough game for us, that’s for sure.”

“In a way it’s similar to the Sligo game for us. They were on a great run too so we have to approach it in the same way- looking to be positive.”

“The players are looking forward to a few days off after this and they deserve it. They’ve worked so hard and given everything I’ve asked for.”

“We have work to do first of course so we’ll go to Drogheda trying to get three points. We’re focused on nothing else for now.”
