Fire and rescue service personnel are still at the scene of a large fire in the Railway Road area of Strabane, with the service sayibng the situation there has been contained.
According to local reports, the blaze at the O’Doherty Coffin Making facility broke out after the building was hit by lightening.
The cause of the blaze is officially under investigation.
At its height, up to 80 firefighters and 10 appliances were at the scene.
West Tyrone MLA Maolíosa McHugh has spoken to Manus O’Doherty, the head of the business which first opened in 1908.
He’s hopeful that with support, the business can return to an operational basis as soon as possible.
