There were a large number of patients awaiting beds at hospitals in the North West this morning.
There were 28 awaiting beds at Letterkenny University Hospital, according to INMO figures, nine of them in the Emergency Department, while 34 were waiting at Sligo University Hospital, 21 of them in the Emergency Department. That makes Sligo and Letterkenny the second and third most overcrowded hospitals in the country this morning, accounting for 21% of the national total of 293.
