There’s been a 106% increase in the number of children in Donegal who haven’t been allocated a social worker – despite child protection and welfare concerns.
Latest figures from Tusla reveal 181 cases in the county, 55 of which are classified as high priority have yet to be allocated a social worker. The figure was 88 last year.
Nationally, nearly 4,800 children haven’t been assigned social workers, representing an increase of 19% in the space of a year.
