The PSNI say they’re investigating several reports of attempted break-ins and attempted burglaries in the Eglinton area of Derry city that occurred on Saturday.
Police say there was an attempted break-in at a home in the Alandale Park area at approximately 5:30pm yesterday, where the resident of the home was awoken by a man standing in his doorway. Police say the suspect was 6 foot tall in height, clean shaven with black hair. It’s then believed once detected in the house, the suspect entered a black Audi Q5, where another male was waiting to drive him away.
Approximately ten minutes later at 5:40, Police say another break-in in Castle Park occurred, leaving the property in question ransacked. It’s not yet known at this time if anything has been stolen.

We are appealing to anyone who was in the areas at the times the incidents took place to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 1753 19/03/22 for the burglaries in Eglinton”
