Donegal County Council has launched an environmental campaign for the Summer months, that aims to promote sustainability to all visitors to the county.
“Sustainable Summer in Donegal” aims to raise awareness of the steps tourists can take to have a more environmentally friendly holiday here.
The new Council initiative will see a number of measures taken to signpost how visitors to County Donegal can take care of the landscape around them in the Summer months.
Using the Donegal County Council and Go Visit Donegal social media platforms, as well as links with local businesses for in-person signage, the initiative will promote the availability of waste management facilities in the County to visitors, to preserve the hard work that goes into making Donegal the holiday destination that it is.
There will also be promotion of more sustainable transport methods that can be used by tourists as part of their visit to the County.
Donegal County Council say that this will be one of many initiatives to be used as a part of their commitment to climate action measures.
