It’s emerged that in recent days, when called to attend an emergency in Inishowen, the nearest available ambulance was over 40 miles away while on another recent occasion a musician took ill in a public premises however, members of the public had to bring him to hospital as no ambulance was available.
A representative of the National Ambulance Service says there is definitely a demand versus supply issue.
He has, however, confirmed that short and long term measures are in place.
