A major police investigation is underway in County Derry after a 72-year-old man died during a burglary at his home in Coleraine.
Police have indicated he was involved in a confrontation with an intruder who broke into the house in Glenmore Gardens at around half past one this morning.
They describe the intruder as being tall, wearing a dark coloured coat and light grey jogging bottoms. He spoke with a local accent.
East Derry MLA John Dallat says this is a heinous crime which has shocked the local community, and the only response can be 100% cooperation with the PSNI………….
