There have been around 200 reported cases of Strep A this year in Ireland.
Dr. Paul Armstrong says he’s seen more cases in recent times.
However speaking on this morning’s Nine ’til Noon show, Dr. Armstrong added that although there is an increase of Strep A, it’s important to note the number of fatal cases remain rare:
