The Tanaiste is to visit Egypt, Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory later this week.
Micheal Martin made the announcement at a meeting of the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels this morning.
He says he will be engaging in particular about Emily Hand, the 8 year old Irish-Israeli who was kidnapped by Hamas, and other Irish citizens still in Gaza.
