House prices in Donegal 11% higher than in 2022

House prices rose last year, but by the smallest margin since 2019.

The end of year report by Daft.ie shows the average house price nationally in the closing months of last year was just over €320,000, 14% lower than at the peak of the Celtic Tiger.

In Donegal, prices in the final three months of 2023 were 11% higher than a year previously with the average house price now €219,480.

Pat Davitt, Chief Executive with Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers, says even when people can prove they have the money to buy, banks aren’t taking notice:
